The Danish artist Maya Stefania Wibling (b. 1977) lives and works in Aarhus, Denmark. Wibling holds a BA degree in classical archaeology and graduated from Aarhus Art academy in 2013. Wiblings recent work has been focusing on empowering the female figure and emphasizes the female connection to history, mythology, and nature. The females of Wibling’s work are looking back at you insisting to be subjects with their own agenda. Some are depicted with an attribute serving as a symbol to expand the portrait into a larger narrative. Represented by Jacob Bjorn Gallery.

The work is part of a charity auction to benefit “Børns Vilkår” (Children's Rights Denmark). The auction is initiated and curated by “Curated by Jens-Peter Brask”. The artists have generously donated their works. Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers do not charge fees or commission so the total proceeds will go undiminished to Børns Vilkår's important work.
